The aim of the one-week course is to provide practical training in Latin and Greek palaeography at an intermediate level, combined with codicological and diplomatic lectures based on a new approach toward manuscript studies and the latest trends in research. The course includes visits to manuscript holding libraries to facilitate contact with manuscripts in the original and provides opportunities for small group consultation.

CEU Professor Explores Ancient Technology

CEU Professor of medieval studies Jozsef Laszlovszky and his students have been hanging out in the 12th century. They haven't gone back in time, just up the Danube to the site of a medieval monastic estate in Pomaz that housed a glass-production center. Part of the site was poorly excavated in the 1930s and skeptics weren't sure that it was once a bustling manufacturing hub but Laszlovszky, who is also an archeologist, and his team have been studying the very real evidence.

Her photographic work was introduced by Zsigmond Ritoók, Professor Emeritus, Member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
