Source Language Teaching Group as Tool to Enhance Research and Use of Primary Texts

CEU alumna Reyhan Durmaz '12 received her master's degree in Medieval Studies and is now a PhD student at Brown University for religious studies. Durmaz discusses how she actively utilized the Source Language Teaching Group to learn new languages, which helped expand her research and use of primary texts.

Rome Prize Winner Ryan Bailey

The American Academy in Rome announced the winners of the 2013/14 Rome Prize. The Academy, through its annual Rome Prize competition, has conferred 31 awards to artists and scholars representing a variety of disciplines. Included among this year’s Rome Prize Winners in Ancient Studies is Ryan Bailey, a Ph.D. candidate in the Faculty of Religious Studies at McGill University and a recent graduate of the Central European University.

András Németh has been appointed as a curator of Greek manuscripts in the Biblioteca Apostolica Vaticana

András Németh received his PhD in Medieval Studies from CEU in 2010, and is now a curator of Greek manuscripts in the Biblioteca Apostolica Vaticana. The august Vatican Library, inaugurated in the mid-fifteenth century under Popes Nicholas V and Sixtus IV, owns the largest holdings of medieval manuscripts and documents worldwide and attracts researchers of all disciplines from around the globe.
