Soon after having gained his PhD from the Medieval Studies Department Vasco La Salvia became Lecturer in Archeology at the University of Chieti, Italy. His main fields of interest are the economy and the technology in transition between Late Antiquity and the early Middle Ages. Presently, he is a member of the Editorial Board of the journal Post Classical Archaeologies and serves as the executive member of the board of the Society for Italian Medieval Archaeology (SAMI). He is involved in field excavations projects in Italy (Miranduolo, S. Cristina in Tuscany and Corfinium in Abruzzo) as well abroad (Cyprus).
