MA in Late Antique, Medieval and Early Modern Studies (one-year)

This program is designed for applicants who join us with a background in any aspect of medieval or historical studies.

Applicants to the one-year MA program are expected to

  • hold a first degree (Diploma, MA), or
  • have completed at least four years of previous study (BA, MA) in history, art history, archaeology, literature, philosophy, or any discipline relevant to the study of the Middle Ages.
  • In addition to the general CEU admission requirements, applicants are required to submit a 500-word, English-language description of their proposed research topic, specifying the primary sources and related secondary literature (see more in the attachment).
  • Applicants may also be required to take a source language aptitude test. (Please see the section Entry Language Requirements.)
