The European Heritage Days are the most widely celebrated participatory cultural event shared by the citizens of Europe.  The Council of Europe launched the initiative in 1985 and it is held in September each year all over Europe. On these days, numerous monuments and sites open their doors, allowing Europe’s citizens to enjoy free visits and learn about their shared cultural heritage.

This is the fifth time that CEU welcomes visitors and presents the heritage value and history of its buildings both for the broader public and for members of its own community.  However, this is the first time that English and Hungarian thematic guided tours enter the news buildings too. The guides are students and faculty members of CEU as well as Hungarian heritage professionals, who will present the results of our current research project: The Building Complex of CEU in the Heart of Budapest: Architectural Heritage, Urban Landscape and Social Dynamics.

Between the thematic guided tours short concerts will enrich the experience in café of Nádor 15.

PROGRAM

Entrance through the Nador 15 gate, registration at the reception desk. Meeting point for the guided tours: Groundfloor Café in Nádor 15.
