The Association of Cultural Heritage Managers (KÖME) together with the Cultural Heritage Studies Program at CEU organizes an open workshop for those who

- do care about the Budapest World Heritage and think they might have got something to do with it as inhabitant, visitor, member of an NGO, as professional etc.

- are interested in learning about methods that help survey easily and efficiently who and why visits your program, cultural or touristic institution, community space, etc.

In Spring 2015 KÖME has launched a long term project to map the manifold stakeholders of the Budapest World Heritage site and to foster their involvement into the future management plan to the site (due by June 2016). The first stage of KÖME’s project is a 2-days workshop on 13-14 June, 2015, conducted by John Veverka (USA), one of the worldwide pioneers in heritage interpretation. This will be followed on 15 June 2015 by a forum on the Budapest World Heritage at the Central European University. The results of the workshop will also be presented there!

Program:
3:30-4:00: Registration
4:00-4:10: Introduction to KÖME and to the aims of the forum
4:10-4:30: Lecture by Dr. Lars Wohlers (KON-TIKI Interpretive consultation, training and evaluation) on visitor studies and the recent situation of visitor research

4:30-5:00: Lecture by John Veverka on the importance of visitor studies within heritage interpretation and its methods
