Dr Aleks Pluskowski teaches the archaeology of later medieval Europe and crusading. His interests include exploring ecological diversity across medieval Europe, focused on zooarchaeology and inter-disciplinary perspectives of human-animal relations.

This session will present the range of techniques used within the Ecology of Crusading project which is investigating the environmental change associated with conquest, colonisation and religious conversion in the medieval eastern Baltic region. It will consider how different forms of evidence at varying scales of resolution can be integrated to answer a common set of research questions.
