Roman Shlyakhtin (MA ’07, doctoral candidate) was awarded a prestigious Junior Fellowship in Byzantine Studies at the Dumbarton Oaks Research Library & Collection for the coming academic year, 2015/16.
Roman continues the series of recent successful applicants from the CEU, including departmental alumni/ae Dr. Florin Leonte (2009/10), Dr. Réka Forrai (2010/11) and Dr. Divna Manolova (2011/12), and is going to finish his innovative dissertation project, “From Huns into Persians: The Image of the Seljuk Turks of Asia Minor among the Byzantine Literati of the Eleventh and Twelfth Centuries,” during his year in Washington, D.C.
