Richard Hodges travels to Visegrad

Richard Hodges, rector of the American University of Rome was a keynote speaker of the conference ‘Pirenne 150: Perception, Reflection, Historiography’ (15-16 November 2012). The conference was convened on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Henri Pirenne. Professor Hodges is an outstanding expert of late ancient and early medieval archaeology. After the scholarly program of the conference he joined the field trip organised for the participants of the course of Professor Laszlovszky‘Medieval Monasticism: Community, Buildings, Landscape’ and took part at an all-day tour to Visegrád. As a regular author of the ‘Current World Archaeology’ he recorded his visit in a special post card.
